What can I say?

Life is really unfair and I finally know how the alumnus feel.

When they announced Commonwealth results, I gave up but there was a sliver of hope on my heart. When they announced Band #104, I let go of the hands I've been gripping real hard and I just went numb. 4 months of intense training was gone... just like that.

But you know something? There's one thing AHBand is unique and will always outshine any other bands in Singapore and that is the unwavering support of the alumnus. I mean, c'mon, we have like what 20 alumnus today? While other bands have like what, 3 or 4? And look at our concert for alumni band and other bands.

And we have the greatest teacher-in-charge, Mrs Lam, in the whole of AHS.

And we have the greatest and best instructors, Mr&MrsChua especially Mrs Chua. She sent YongQuan a sms telling us this:

"I'll always be there for you all if you're willing to :)"

Almost cried again. She is really the best kind of conductor anyone can ask for. Mr Chua too.

And deep down, we're really a GWH band. These 4 months, the bonds we made, the sweat we put in - those were memorable and one can never forget. I was so estranged from the seniors last year but look now, especially with HuiMin. Btw, thanks for the Mac breakfast this morning HuiMin. And you are really a great section leader. Seriously.

Even after the results were out, and we're back into our smelly yet cosy bandroom, Mrs Lam chided us. For not holding our heads high enough. Cause all the alumnus and her felt that we did our best and that, 2 years ago, we played just for SYF and now, we played for music and I can say, today was one of the very best AHBand had ever played. So we picked up our instruments once more, which I discarded when I entered the bandroom, and played the songs just for Mrs Lam to thank her for her support and care.

Thanks QiQin for comforting me although we hardly talked to each other and never really seen each other, only a few times like twice or thrice.

Thanks everyone for the encouragements and comforting sms-es.

Thanks alumni.

Thanks Mrs Lam.

Thanks HuiMin for the encouragements and guidances you gave me through these 4 months.

Thanks Mr&Mrs Chua.

Thanks AHBand, for giving me such a memorable SYF'09.

Mingli, just like what you wrote on the card, 6 April 2009, is the day which I will never forget.

7 random strangers awarded us SILVER, but the ones who matter most to AHBand - Mrs Lam, alumnus, Mr&Mrs Chua awarded us Gold, even Gold with Honours.
