⇨grateful My grandma was recently hospitalized to undergo a skin graft operation remove a cancerous skin growth on her face, so here I am, in the hospital ward. I was really worried for her, especially the day before I left for Hong Kong, her heart condition wasn't good and her operation which was scheduled on Monday had to be postponed. We were all afraid her heart couldn't take the operation and had to use other drastic measures to remove it. But my grandma is really jjang. Despite her age of 92, and history of many medical complications (she had nose cancer twenty to thirty years back, and 6 years ago, she had to be fed through a tube connected to her stomach cause she can no longer swallow food due to excess phlegm in her trachea), she made it through. But seeing her struggling for all her life, I'm really disturbed. Why can't God just made life easier for her? ): I miss the grandma I had when I was 4 years old. She would always walk to my house and visit me, buying snacks for me, knitting me trousers, vests etc. I really want that grandma even now. I never had any other grandparent other than her, and seeing her like that, unable to move fast by herself, makes me really resent life sometimes. But I guess, she's a great testimony that life can't take her down. I'm really proud of her, and she's the person I admire the most in this world. My very own grandma who has been fighting with life since she was three, taking in stride whatever that was thrown to her and overcoming them. She's a true fighter, and she shows me that while life can be fragile at times, it's really the human spirit and determination to keep moving the world. Anyone knows how to knit a lap blanket? I wanna do something for my grandma while she's still here with me, and for once, be a good granddaughter. |
